Contracted by a local building company, we received a brief detailing the restoration of a school assembly hall, specifying the use of ‘Junckers’ Base Prime and 2 Coats of ‘Junckers’ two component HP Sport. As Approved Junckers contractors we were able to provide expert knowledge on products and guaranteed levels of craftsmanship, with excellent after care service and maintenance solutions to suit our clients needs.
Being a school main assembly hall used for lunch sittings and occasional sports classes, the existing floor finish had failed and was not fit for purpose. Areas of exposed wood were visible which was not only an issue aesthetically but did not comply with safety regulations for a mixed use floor area. After thorough sanding which eradicated any damage or contaminations caused from the previous finish, the floor was polished with a multi disc finishing machine in order to remove any marks created during the belt sanding process.
A regular meeting place for parents and school committees, the hall was in need of transformation into a showpiece area for the school. Combined with the other building & decorating works taking place this was successfully achieved. Maximised by the application of Base Prime the floor took on a more striking red colour and the variation and natural features of the wood were no longer masked by unsuitable floor finishes.
Following the final coat application of ’Junckers’ HP Sport, the floor had a great look and received widespread praise from teachers, pupils and parents. Maintenance advice and services have since been provided in order to achieve the maximum life from the floor.
